SwitchSENSE High-Sensitivity Molecular Interaction Analysis Device heliX+
High-sensitivity biosensor based on the SwichSENSE principle using DNA as a fixation tool.
heliX/heliX+ is a high-sensitivity device for analyzing molecular interactions and protein properties that adopts a new principle called "SwitchSENSE," which uses DNA nanolevers as a immobilization tool. It has approximately 100 times the sensitivity of existing biosensors and possesses a wide range of applications and analytical capabilities, including the analysis of high-affinity interactions that are difficult to measure with conventional devices, dual specificity interaction analysis, and enzyme kinetics analysis of nucleic acid-related enzymes. Additionally, the chip can be reused multiple times. Since DNA is used for immobilization, it allows for a high degree of freedom in presenting molecules on the chip, such as immobilizing two types of molecules. There are also no effects from the immobilization matrix. Furthermore, being a sensor that uses nucleic acids allows for easy implementation of enzyme kinetics analysis for nucleic acid-related enzymes such as polymerases and endonucleases, and it demonstrates significant power in evaluating inhibitors of viral proliferation. The modular design of the device also enables easy high-throughput capabilities. It can be utilized in a wide range of research, from drug discovery to biophysical fundamental research on biomolecules.
